Cutting patch panels slightly narrower at top edge enables an A-line shape to grow into a semi circle as panels are joined.  Add to panels until the top waist line is the required size plus seam or buttoning overlap.

Flared patchworks folded in two, seams all joined to make semi circular skirt.  Notice only a slight change in rectangle angle cut results in an eventual waist curve. This gives a good hang, when sewn to top section.

Cutting sections from leggins, which started the notion of slanting the patch rectangles in order to keep all the roses.  Cutting short section and longer section set the pattern, to cut other patches; (short and long).

Patchwork seams pinned loosely to ascertain colour and print positioning for design balance.

Position corner joins of patch seams in opposite directions, before pressing, to avoid bulkiness as much as possible.

Wool is joined to waist top by 'cross stitch' which enables stretch enough for over hips. Backstitch both top and bottom stitch runs as crosses made.  Instructions of this stretch stitch is also shown at another dress, Coffee Cappuccino
